Experience operating manual/powered machines, tools and measuring equipment, i.e.Ability to lift items up to 40 lbs without assistance.Ability to stand, stoop, bend, walk, and reach frequently throughout the workday.Communication skills, ability to read, write and comprehend instruction.Produces parts within tolerances allowed at the production rates assigned.Lifts/moves work piece weighing up to 15 lbs, except for pistons which may weigh up to 50 lbs using crane assistance.Changes cutting tools and/or inserts within prescribed guidelines and maintaining required records needed.Fill out SPC (Statistical Process Control) charts and all charts required for the operation. Responsible for first piece inspection by assuring all print tolerances are held after set up and accurately completes job cards.Sets up machines using information from process charts to perform various operations on a wide variety of parts, machining same to a tolerance of.Inspects parts to operator QCI (Quality Control Instructions) requirements. Use standard inspection equipment or CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) to check parts produced.May have other machine functions included but 70% of workload is turning. Sets up and operates turning machines: turning, boring, chamfering (basic machining) and grooving as required.Adhere to established safety procedures and 5 “ S ” standards (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain the cycle) required to perform daily duties in this position, including the proper techniques used in lifting/moving of parts.Responsibilities cited below are considered essential job functions: The individual must be able to follow general machine shop practices while working under moderate supervision.
